Privacy Policy

We have established the following privacy policy (hereinafter referred to as the “Policy”) to protect the personal information of our customers (including those in charge of our business partners) and to appropriately handle such personal information in accordance with the Policy. The meanings of the terms used in this policy shall conform to the Act on the Protection of Personal Information (“Personal Information Protection Act”).

This Privacy Policy has been prepared in Japanese and translated into English. The Japanese version is the official version and the English version is for reference only. In the event of any conflict to the interpretations between these two language versions, the Japanese version takes precedence.

1. Personal information items subject for acquisition

We will acquire the following personal information about our customers

  • nformation related to personal identification: Name, address, location of the company to which you belong, contact information, position in the company to which you belong, date of birth, telephone number, e-mail address, social media account information, information related to official certifications such as driver’s license, etc.
  • Information related to transactions: Information related to transaction details and purchase history, etc.
  • Information related to payments: Information related to financial institution accounts, information related to payments and its methods, etc.
    When a customer makes a payment based on a product purchase contract on our service, we will collect information related to the credit card through a credit card payment service provider commissioned by us. Such information will be managed by the relevant business entity and will not be retained by our company.
  • Information acquired through the use of the Service: Cookie IDs and other online identifiers, information of the device used, location information, browser history, and other information about the usage of the Service (including access logs, IP addresses, browser information, browser language settings, etc.)
  • Other Information: Inquiries, contact, etc. made by the customers to our Company, etc.

2. Purpose of use

We will acquire and use the personal information of the customers within the scope of the following purposes of use (hereinafter referred to as the “Purposes of use”).

  1. To authenticate the identity of a customer during their registration and usage of the service, in addition to customer management
  2. (Regarding the date of birth) To confirm whether or not the customer is a minor and to determine whether or not the said customer can register for use
  3. To deliver, provide, and offer after-sales service of products, etc.
  4. To bill charges for products, etc. and services
  5. To prevent and handle fraud, etc.
  6. To maintain and manage services
  7. To research and analyze marketing data, in addition to reviewing and implementing marketing measures
  8. To provide, solicit, advertise, and offer other market services of our company or a third party’s products, etc. and services through our company’s or a third party’s medium in accordance with the interests of the customer based on the analysis of their attributes and behavioral history
  9. To conduct campaigns, sweepstakes, and surveys
  10. To improve products and services, in addition to the planning, research and development of new products, etc. and services
  11. To respond to inquiries and to contact customers
  12. To provide information to a third party through methods described in this policy

3. Provision to a third party

  1. We shall not provide the personal information that we handled to a third party without obtaining the prior consent of the customer, except in the following cases.
    1. When required by law.
    2. When it is necessary to protect the life, body, or property of an individual, and if obtaining the consent of the customer is difficult.
    3. When it is especially necessary to improve public health or to promote the sound growth of children, and if obtaining the customer’s consent is difficult.
    4. When it is necessary to cooperate with national agencies, local governments, or an individual or entity entrusted by either a national agency or local government to execute the affairs prescribed by law, and if obtaining the customer’s consent is likely to impede the execution of such.
    5. When permitted by other laws and regulations.
  2. We may entrust the handling of personal data to outside carriers, credit card payment service providers, and other third parties to the extent necessary to achieve the purpose of use. In this case, a third party that is capable of appropriately handling personal data shall be selected and a contract be concluded with such third party regarding the handling of personal data, in addition to supervising such third party wherever necessary and appropriate.

5. Request for disclosure, etc.

We shall respond to requests for disclosure, etc. (meaning requests for the notification of purpose of use, the disclosure, correction, addition, deletion of personal information or records of provision to a third party, the suspension of use or suspension of provision to a third party) as set forth below.

  1. Notification of purpose of use or the disclosure of personal information or records of provision to a third party
    Customers may request us for the notification of purpose of use or disclose their personal information or records of provision to a third party in accordance with the procedures set forth in (4) below, to the extent permitted under the Personal Information Protection Act. However, we may not disclose the information in any of the following cases.
    1. When the disclosure may harm the life, body, property, or other rights or interests of the person in question or a third party
    2. When the disclosure may cause significant hindrance to the proper conduct of the business of our company
    3. When the disclosure is in violation of the laws and regulations
    4. When the request for disclosure cannot be confirmed that it was made by the person in question
    In the event that a request is made for the notification of purpose of use or disclosure of personal information or records of provision to a third party, a disclosure fee as set forth in (4) below will be charged.
  2. Corrections, additions and deletions
    You may request for the correction, addition, or deletion of your personal information in accordance with the procedures set forth in (4) below. In such cases, we will investigate without delay to the extent necessary to achieve the purpose of use, and based on the results, correct, add, or delete the relevant personal information to the extent permitted by the Personal Information Protection Act.
  3. Suspension of use or suspension of provision to a third party
    The customer may request us to stop using their personal information or stop providing it to a third party in accordance with the procedures set forth in (4) below. In such cases, we will respond appropriately in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act.
  4. Procedure
    When making a request for disclosure, etc., customers are requested to fill in the prescribed items on our “Request Form for Disclosure of Retained Personal Data, etc.,” and then send it enclosed along with a personal identification document (see (i.) below) and a return Letter Pack (see (ii.) below) necessary for a written disclosure, to the mailing address designated by us (see (iii.) below).     In addition, a fee of 1,000 yen per request will be charged for the notification of purpose of use and disclosure of personal information or records of provision to a third party. Please transfer the funds to the account indicated on the invoice. The prescribed fee will still be charged even for cases regarding the non-disclosure or non-notification of purpose of use.

6. Handling of cookies

  1. Use of cookies
    Our website uses cookies and other similar technologies for tracking or analysis (hereinafter collectively referred to as “cookies”) in order to provide customers with an even more optimized service.
    1. Cookie overview: A cookie is a small file containing a string of characters that is exchanged between a web server and the internet browsing software (browser) of the customer that is stored on the device of the customer when they visit a website. By using this information, we may acquire non-personally identifiable attribute information such as the browsing history, service usage history, and location information of the customers.
      Customers can set their browsers in advance to indicate that a site uses cookies, to disable cookies, or to delete stored cookies. Please note that if customers reject the use of cookies or delete cookies, their ability to use the website may be limited.
    2. About Google Analytics: We use Google Analytics provided by Google. We may receive the results from Google’s collection and analysis of the browsing history of a customer based on cookies set by us or Google, and use the results to understand customer usage and to use for the our services.   2. Acquisition of information from third parties
    We may, from other group companies and partner businesses (including but not limited to DMP businesses, other advertising companies, research and analysis companies, media businesses, database management companies, etc.), acquire the browsing history, service usage history, location information, etc. of the customer that they from such third parties, link it to your personal information, and use it for the purposes described in “2. Purpose of use.”

7. Safety control measures

In the event that this policy is revised, the implementation, the date, and the details of the revision will be announced on our website or through other appropriate means.
